If “wandering more” is one of your ultimate New Year’s resolutions, then there’re numerous ways to book flights & accommodation for free — or at least, cheapest cost. Here are some expert-approved hacks for how to travel cheaply.

Yeah, it’s very much possible to ‘earn money’ when you book a trip. Travel and Food Influencer Caitlin, of @BeFatBeHappy on Insta, does the mass of her bookings on Rakuten, a free website where you can buy from more than 2500 online stores and earn cashback. When I book my tours on some travel websites, there’ve been several times I’ve gotten cashback of up to 14 percent on purchases — that means ‘more money in your pocket’.

Three Magical Words: Airline. Loyalty. Program.

Alright, I will agree that sign-ups for an airline’s rewards program are with a bunch of irritating promo-mails. BUT! The benefits are really worth it. The more often you book flights, the more miles you stockpile & the more benefits you’ll get. Seriously, just by only copy-paste your email on every airline’s reward sign-up pages, you can earn free upgrades and free flights.

Book Stays with a Website That Has Deals

Booking accommodations or even Airbnbs can turn to be quite high in price. Instead of it, search for websites that offer benefits and also discounts. I’ll recommend Hotels.com because on Hotels.com, whenever you book 10 nights, you will get one night for free. The price of this free night will be the average price you paid for the last 10 nights.

Travel Rewards CreditCard

If you are’nt stockpiling reward points on a rewards creditcard, you are basically discarding your free flights. Sure, you may opt to accumulate miles on a single airline’s card, but for example, freed you to book on whatever the airline you want to go for. Just Redeem points when you book the tickets.

If you aren’t owning a car or lack of funds to rent a car, still you can go on the road trips from point A to point B. Their are many companies that connects the car owners with the drivers. After putting $350 as security deposit aside (which’ll be returned upon delivery), you will be paid — either per mile or flat and gas will also be added back to the owner. Yeah, you’ll earn to take a road trip, awesome.
