PACHMARHI AT A GLANCE

Pachmarhi at a Glance | AtharavRaj Yadav

Pachmarhi is the only hill station & the highest site in Madhya Pradesh. Pachmarhi is also frequently recognized as "Satpura ki Rani" or the "Queen of the Satpura Range". Located at an altitude of 1,070 meters, the panorama town is a part of UNESCO's Biosphere Reserve, shelter to leopards & bison.

Five sandstone cut caverns on the peak are considered to be the place where Pandavas visited in Pachmarhi while their exile, presenting it a famous place among religious travelers. Being at a high altitude plus encircled by fascinating jungles of the Satpuras with the rivers & waterfalls, Pachmarhi is an ideal weekend getaway from the nearest cities of Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra. After the town was located and developed in contemporary times by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army, it has beautiful churches constructed in colonial-style structures.
