Today, Juveniles have commenced using Internet from younger ages. Around 80 percent of the children have admittance to use internet from home computers. 1 in 3 internet users is a child now. As per the report of IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association on India), an approximated 67 million children ranging from 5 to 11 years age have permit to use internet on the devices of their members of family, which makes around 15 percent of the India’s Active Userbase of Internet. And most probably, there are not cautious of its usage, so they may confront considerable threats of serving their privy information or permitting malwares in their device, which could steer to the similar issues.

On one has inherent skills of staying safe online. So, there’s an urgent requirement to grow awareness in public about the probable threats of being online and to evolve skills to play safe and in accountable way. Schools and Colleges can and must act as a prime contributor in teaching the good and essential habits of cyber security. Here, the term ‘habits’ doesn’t associate with the awareness, because children must have to evolve the right instincts to alleviate all malicious conditions. These reflexes should be activated every time, when they’re on the internet.

When schools or colleges teach on the usage of internet or computer, they need to aim ‘security’ as a prime subject of the entire course. As delinquents circulate their assails as extensively as they can. Every hijacked credential and every corrupt device are beneficial to them. Any infected device can be a component of a bot-net for executing assails on larger targets and the owner of that device may not detect until and unless the account becomes suspended or blocked for malpractices.

A great component of cyber security is adjudicating, when and when not to trust. So, being protected online is primarily a subject of superseding the precarious instincts with the safe habits. The safe one requires to be well deep-rooted. And for evolving those habits or skills, cyber security teaching seems to be an intensive type for the students pursuing career in IT. But, it is precious for only those who’ve interest in it and for everyone. The other part is the advancement of basic habits and awareness for being safe online. This requires to be a fundamental component of everyone’s computer literacy.

As being on a safe side on internet, has become conundrum for everyone who is old enough to access internet via smartphone or computers. It should be considered as accountability, for the schools and college to ensure that their students are fully equipped with the knowledge on, how to be safe online.
